Kasich Orders Flags Flown at Half-Staff in Honor of Victims of Attack in Baton Rouge

Today Governor John R. Kasich ordered that all flags be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout the state of Ohio, effective immediately until sunset, July 22, 2016, in response to orders issued by the President of the United States to honor the victims of the attack in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Kasich's order reads: "In accordance with orders issued today by the President of the United States of America and as a mark of respect for the victims of the attack on police officers perpetrated on Sunday, July 17, 2016, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I hereby proclaim, by the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Ohio by the Ohio Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, that the flags of the United States of America and the State of Ohio shall be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout the state of Ohio effective immediately until sunset, July 22, 2016."
